Get Involved with the Professor Spotlight Panel!!

September 27th, 2010

Hello,

The professor panel is on! The date has been tentatively set  for Tuesday, October 26. That means that there is a lot of planning to do! We need lots of people on the committee to help make it a successful and productive evening. The idea of having a Halloween/Harvest theme has been proposed.  The plan so far is to sell harvest themed baked goods before the event. Also, we would like to have a bake sale in the lobby of the CUB the next day to fundraise for the club as well. Here are areas that we need people to help out in:

  • Advertising/Artistic Committee
    • We need people to create signs and posters, hang them up, pass them out, write blurbs for the papers and radio, create an informative Anthro Club flyer and logo
    • People to help design “test” koozies to sell
    • Design a fun “time killer” anthro quiz for interaction before the event
  • Photographer
    • Someone to take pictures at the event
  • Tech Person
    • Someone to be in charge of the Professors’ PowerPoints and the presentation order
  • Bakers
    • People to bake what we sell
  • Bodies at the events
    • We need people to attend and bring their friends
    • We also need people to sell the goods at the event and bake sale

It is easy to get involved, send a short email to me (trwixom@fortlewis.edu) or Melanie (maostler@fortlewis.edu) we will then start updating you about committee meetings which are set to start this week!

Opportunity to Help with Important Event

September 24th, 2010

Hello Anthro Club,

The opportunity to help with an important and educational event on campus has come up. This year is the 3rd Real History of the Americas Event that will take place on October 11th (Columbus Day). This event tried to get the word out about how the Americas were conquered and to educate people about how America was before being conquered. This is a great opportunity to get the word about Anthropology out to the public, and to also help some of the other clubs and organizations on campus. If you are interested in more detailed information post to this comment or email me and I can forward you a ton of stuff! Also check out the poster. If you want to get involved and help represent Anthropology Club there are two meetings next week that you can go to:

Monday, 9/27/2010 11:00-12:00 in El Centro

Thursday, 9/30/2010 1:00-2:00 in El Centro

I hope to see some of you there or receive emails as to how you can get involved!

Hello!

September 10th, 2010

This Blog is for Anthropology Club information. It will have valuable links to Calendars, Meeting Minutes, Surveys, etc. You will also find updates and reminders about meetings and events on this page. It also will allow you to create a profile and comment and chat with other Anthro Club members. I’m still figuring the site out so be patient and check back often for updates!

Enjoy!
