“For nothing is impossible with God.” -Luke 1:37
Dream big and shoot for the stars.
As cliché as that sounds, do it! God is always there helping you out and supporting you. God is in your cheering section! Make goals because they’re all achievable. He is there to help you reach them and to help you if you fall. Don’t let anyone discourage you or steal your sparkle because to God you are absolutely amazing and He wants you to succeed. Never think that what you want to do is impossible because it isn’t. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Keep God near and everything will be possible.
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and the young men will stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” -Isaiah 40:30-31
We are so close to the end of this semester and the end of this year! During theses stressful times, don’t lose your faith. Let God lift you up and restore your strength. We only have a few weeks to go so we can’t give up! We have to keep pushing through. We all grow weary, so keep God close and let Him help you. Times are getting taxing , but God will always be there to help. Let’s finish strong!
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” -Psalm 23:4
The end of the year is coming which means finals, deadlines, and due dates. It’s hard not to feel anxious. Know that God’s presence is always with you to comfort you. He will guide you. When you’re feeling anxious, say a prayer and talk to God because He will always help you. At stressful times, or at anytime really, God will give you a sense of peace. He is never far. I always say, “When in doubt, pray it out.”
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!” -Psalm 107:1
Thanksgiving is the day to give thanks for everything we have been blessed with, but we should give thanks everyday. Look around you today. God has put so many amazing things into our lives, but sometimes we overlook them. Be thankful. We all have rough patches in life, but look at the blessings you are given daily. There are so many things to be thankful for, whether they’re small things or big things. I love Thanksgiving and the thought of having a full day dedicated to giving thanks, but we have things to be thankful for everyday. We are given so much and we are loved beyond measure by the Lord. That is something that should always be acknowledged.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6
As an athlete, I practice, compete, win, and lose all the time. Sometimes it is just so physically and mentally draining that I feel like I can’t do it anymore. If a team or another player is really good I get intimidated and down on myself. God will NEVER leave me. Ever. There is no need for me to worry. I should not be afraid.
For anyone that competes in anything, whether it’s a sport or something else, can get something out of the verse. Always stay strong and be confident. Your Heavenly Father is forever with you so don’t be afraid. Go into any competition, game, or even a test with strength and courage. Everything is possible.
This post is a little off course, but if you are feeling like the world is a negative place or you’re giving up hope, watch these videos. The first one helps give the world a little credit and helps to see the good in the world. People do good things everyday, but sometimes those deeds go unnoticed because of the rest of the negativity that people focus on. The second one gives a little hope about your own life. Live your live with a purpose and good things will come out of it. Know that God is always close and that He will be there in times of need. He will be there to help you change your life or to make differences in others. We all struggle and we all need that extra push once and a while. Don’t give up on this crazy world because it has so much to give.
This assignment is different than anything I have ever done before because we can choose exactly what we say and how we want to say it. We can update our blogs whenever we want and we have the freedom to voice our own thoughts. Blogging has been teaching us to think critically and to talk about one topic for a longer period of time. This is a good learning experience for all of us, not just academically either. We are learning about each other on a more personal level and learning about our own capabilities. Blogging has been an overall very helpful experience.
A blog, which is a journal written online and accessible to users of the internet, has been the main focus of class lately. A blog is used to report about certain topics, whether it is academic or just for fun. People blog to educate people, voice their opinions, and to discuss topics they are interested in. A blog is a type of writing that you keep up with and continue to write on. It isn’t just one paper or diary entry. It is a collection of entries that are always being added to.
Each scholar was assigned to pick a topic to blog about. We had time in class to work on our blogs and we also have anytime outside of class to work on them. Our blogs, also considered journals or reports, are academic so we have a page about the rhetoric of learning, documenting our learning, and a page about ourselves (to create credibility). Each of us have had multiple weeks to prepare our blogs and now we are assigned to blog weekly. We have chosen topics that are appealing to us so it is easier to blog.
“As for God, his way is perfect; the word of God is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock besides our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.” 2 Samuel 22:31-33
God is strength whenever you’re feeling weak and peace when you’re feeling afraid. He can help you with anything that you need. His path for you is perfect. He’s the one who created it so he will help you through it. Trust in Him to be your shield. His presence provides you comfort so be trustworthy and know that He is always with you. Don’t be afraid. He will forever be your protector and He will guide you down your perfect path of life.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” -Romans 15:13
As new college students, or even experienced college students, we are all enduring new struggles that seem to arise everyday. There seems to always be something bringing us down whether it’s school, work, people, sports, etc. No matter what, though, we need to remember that God is for us. He knows exactly what He is doing. Let God overflow you with peace and remind you to keep hope. There will always be negativity. There will always be struggle. Never ever let that discourage you. Keep God close to you and keep hope that everything happens for a reason and that you will be okay. God is with you every step of the way on the path that He has created for you. Trust in the man upstairs. He is always near.
