College is something I have always wanted to complete. It is imperative in today’s society to receive higher education in order to be successful. College is a choice, and an investment in improving the standard of life. I never really knew what I was going to study until I got here, so I made the ultimate decision to study Business Administration.
I chose Business Administration because it seemed like something that I could use to my advantage. To this day I don’t exactly have a plan for what I want to do in the future. This however doesn’t phase me. It will come naturally, and I will find something I love one day. Business Administration seemed like a good starting point for my life. It is a pretty universal topic to major in, and I feel as though it can be applied to a great deal of different careers. If I do ever decide to go to graduate school, this degree should be a good contribution to whatever I decide to study later on.
As of right now I have worked many different jobs. In the summers I build houses, and this winter I am a ski tech as I have been for the past 4-5 seasons. I don’t exactly have something that I want or plan on doing for the rest of my life. There’s no way I want to build houses forever. Sure I could, but it’s hard, labor intensive work that is dangerous, and can be extremely stressful at times. Tuning skis is almost more of a hobby to me. I can’t see myself doing that in 10 years. I literally show up to work, help customers with rentals, and drink beer and tune skis. It’s got to be one of the most relaxed work environments I’ve ever encountered.
Business Administration is a good pick for me, for now. It will be something that I can use in the future, and the skills I learn will be applicable to a wide variety of things. I can’t wait for the day I have a degree doing this and decide what I want to study for grad school. It will be really nice to choose a good career path for my life.
