One of Durango locals favorite mom and pop shops is RGP’s flame grilled wraps. It is a tiny little place tucked away down town Durango in the main mall. There wraps are to die for and even better, there cheep! I have had all of the wraps there and they are ALL excellent. however I can’t help but favor the Chris and Jen, named after the owners themselves.
Chris and Jen:
Cheddar and Feta Cheese, Tomatoes, Onions, Green Peppers, Carrots, Bacon, and Oven Roasted Turkey with homemade Coleslaw and delicious Spicy Ranch right inside!
That’s my favorite wrap, go find out which one is yours! One thing to remember, they only except cash!
A new restaurant opened in town a couple of months ago and I have been dying to go there. Well I finally did and I am kicking myself for not going sooner. I had the most amazing lamb burger I have ever had.
Sunnyside lamb, rosemary creme frachie, feta cheese, roasted beet, house cut fries or house salad
The burger was juicy and delicious and my favorite part about it was that the ingredients are local! The lamb is from sunnyside farm, the house cut fries are from local farmers, and the beets are grown by one of my personal friends from Fields to Plate produce. This amazing burger runs for only 11 bucks! If you like lamb burgers, you will LOVE this!
There are three places in Durango to get sushi and my favorite by far is Rice Monkeys. It’s a tiny little restaurant tucked away at the end of main with killer food. They have great appetizers, delicious rice and noodle bowls, and amazing rolls! My favorite roll by far is the Lime Twist.
tempura fried shrimp, avocado, cilantro. Topped with tuna, avocado, lime, and sweet chili sauce.
This creative combination of flavors does wonders for your taste buds. If you stop by Rice Monkeys, you have to check it out!
Come down to Jbos from 11 till 2 and try our pulled pork pancakes! Sounds crazy?? It IS….. Crazy delicious! It comes with two buttermilk pancakes, a heap of smoked pulled pork topped with whiskey maple syrup! Two eggs on the side! Come and get some before we run out!
Living in Durango so long I have come to find that Steamworks Brewery is one of my absolute favorites. If your looking for good locally brewed beer or delicious upper-end bar food Steamworks is the place to be. Over the years I have had almost everything on the menu, yet every time I go I cant help but order the Chop Salad.
Chop Salad –
Cold Smoked Salmon, Corn, Pearl Couscous, Dried Cranberries, Pepitas, Asiago Cheese, Arugula, Gorgonzola Dressing (I get it with cilantro lime dressing)
The amazing combination of flavor and texture in this salad is unreal. You will NOT be disappointed. However if this salad doesn’t exactly appeal to you, something on the menu will. I highly recommend Steamworks to anyone who hasn’t been, and if you have, than you already know.
